RNVDO is conducting a needs assessment in the Syria – Deir al-Zour

Deir Al-Zour is one of the most important cities in Syria in terms of agriculture and livestock, but its economy was greatly affected by the destruction and disruption caused by the Syrian conflict and the war against ISIS. As part of RNVDO humanitarian response, the organization’s staff has conducted surveys on the agricultural situation after the liberation of the region. In particular, RNVDO conducted a series of specialized studies in fish farms and irrigation channels that currently do not work.

The assessment team met with many farmers in the Euphrates River basin and the Khabur River basin to identify the challenges and problems that they are facing and the ways of working to address the need to restore and empower the local families through the support of the agricultural sector and livestock.
