On October-November 2019, women of Mosul got the opportunity to acquire a new profession with the vocational training. In Al-Akhaa, 20 females are gaining sewing skills, and more than 100 – are in line for the courses.
Women are 52% of beneficiaries, mostly because they are more vulnerable than men due to various factors including limited mobility. The project empowers women with variety of skills, allows them taking charge of their life, and participating in the community.
The most capable participants can receive grants to run their businesses and start own income-generating career.
At the moment, we are seeking new donors to start a long-term project, which will allow more women to get a chance for a dignified, independent life.
