December 2016 was a turning point in her life when she chose the road less traveled, moving from the UN to the NGO world. After observing the close relationship between local organizations and conflict affected populations and the serious risks taken by NGOs to hasten aid to the most disadvantaged and challenged people, as also the need to develop and build more management level capacity of NGOs, she joined RNVDO, an organization known for its bold and accelerated interventions to the most needy directly in the front lines of conflict. Numerous lives have been saved as a result of RNVDO’s timely initiatives. Recognizing her skills and gentle but firm steering of programmes for results, on 1 April 2018, RNVDO turned over the important charge of Executive Director to Ms Pereira Mendes.
