Announcement for Service Contract: Vocational Skills Trainers
Reports to: Livelihoods Management Team
Number of positions: Multiple trainers will be contracted from this announcement
Locations: Mosul, Al Jadidah and Mosul, Zangili
Position overview: RNVDO will conduct multi-day skills/vocational training sessions for its livelihoods program beneficiaries across two project locations. We anticipate offering trainings in the following skills (to be confirmed based on beneficiary demand; this list is not exhaustive):
- Mobile phone maintenance
- Air conditioning maintenance
- Basic mechanics and maintenance of cars and motorcycles
- Sweets/pastry production (baking)
- Jewelry making
- Home electrical setup
- Hair dressing
- Suspended ceiling
- Basic sewage line setup
- Customer Service
- Installing ceramic floor and wall tiles
- Smithy for doors and windows
- Aleppo soap/shampoo/candle production
- Women’s handicrafts: embroidery etc.
∙ Prepare a detailed training program, including a clear methodology and proposed tools. The training must adopt a participatory and interactive approach which should include educational games for practicing the skills learned.
∙ Prepare a bill of quantity for any materials/tools needed for trainees.
∙ Prepare a list of requirements for venues and any major equipment needed to conduct the training.
∙ Record trainees’ participation and attention during the training and report to RI management on a daily basis.
∙ Assess at the end of each class trainees’ comprehension of the subjects discussed.
Skills and qualifications:
∙ Degree or professional certification in the relevant skill(s), as appropriate
∙ Demonstrated professional experience directly related to the relevant skill(s)
∙ Previous training experience in the target skill(s), preferably with experience working with low literacy populations
∙ Experience developing training curriculum
∙ Experience working with people from different backgrounds
∙ Motivated, dynamic; able and willing to take initiative
∙ Arabic language is required
∙ Previous experience providing similar services for an NGO is preferred
